I’m Dr. Tamara Speth, Registered Psychologist practicing virtually across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.
I completed my PhD in Clinical Psychology at Dalhousie University, followed by my pre-doctoral residency with Nova Scotia Health.
My training includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) with specialized treatments for trauma, such as Cognitive Processing Therapy, Prolonged Exposure, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as second-wave CBT approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
In my practice, I embrace an integrative approach to treatment, tailoring my methods to fit the unique needs and preferences of each client. This often involves blending different evidence-based treatments to ensure the most effective care. I believe in using humour and elements of positive psychology to enhance the therapeutic experience, focusing on acceptance, mindfulness, and living in alignment with one’s values.
I'm passionate about helping my clients navigate their challenges and move towards a more fulfilling life.
