Therapeutic Modalities
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based treatment that modifies unhelpful thoughts and behaviours to enhance emotional control.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a branch of CBT that: incorporates mindfulness and acceptance strategies, focuses on psychological flexibility, encourages acceptance of thoughts and feelings without judgment. and teaches the skill of embracing experiences without attempting to change them.
Evidence-based trauma treatments (i.e., Prolonged Exposure, Cognitive Processing Therapy, EMDR) are scientifically supported therapies designed to help individuals process and recover from trauma by reducing distress, challenging negative beliefs, and integrating traumatic experiences in healthier ways.
