Fees

Fees for psychological services are set in accordance with the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia (APNS) recommendation at $210 per 50-minute session and $315 per 80-minute session. Please note that fees will be increased to $225 per 50-minute session in October 2024 in line with the Association of Psychologists of Nova Scotia recommended rate increase.

Cancellation Policy

Please provide at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows the slot to be offered to other clients who may be waiting for an available session. No-shows and cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled time are subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to 50% of the session rate.

Payment is due at the end of each session. Payment options include:

• Mastercard (and Debit Mastercard)

Insurance and Direct Billing

Psychological services are not covered by provincial health insurance in Nova Scotia (MSI) but may be covered by some private health insurance plans. Please check with your private health insurance plan prior to attending your first session to determine the extent of the coverage you may have. Note that insurance companies do not pay for missed appointments as a result of no-shows or late cancellations. Dr. Speth currently offers a direct billing option for Blue Cross and Canada Life.
